Actually looked at this property with a realtor recently. Interesting modern design, but only has 2 (TWO) bedrooms! It’s on septic and propane (which is getting higher in price/gal), another minus. It sits on a level well below the street level, thus making the drive in/out a risky business due to the steep slope. No wonder it went down $150k.
Yes, I have. It also suffers the same situations: it’s on septic tank and propane (which is getting higher in price/gal), it sits on a level well below the street level, thus making the drive in/out a risky business due to the steep slope. The layout of the house is also weird with a detached studio (the current owner is an artist) on the roof top. IMHO, Eanes ISD is such overrated anyway.
This was one of the first houses I looked at when I was planning my move to Austin. I really dug it, but 695K in 2009 in that location was WAY too much. Even with a 150K discount 9n 2012, it’s still too high for that area. MAYBE if it was in Travis Heights, Bryker, etc.
this was featured back in 2009 for $695,000

Wow! That stairwell is gorgeous!
Empty lot was bought in June 2008 for $90k.

Have you seen the house next door? It is 100/sq ft higher at 699k! This seems like a great deal for Eanes schools and such a cool house.

IF it was TH or Bryker – it wouldn’t be 550.
Listed on 5/12/2014 for $725,000, 100+ days, tick tock. Exterior walls and landscaping looking a little sad. But … the stairwell still rocks.
