IF+D Moving (or maybe not) Sale

posted by MA staff

IF+D is having a huge end of the year sale.  It also could be a moving sale or perhaps the last sale ever*

Details here.

* I haven’t chatted with Kristen in a bit but given the tone of the email (linked above), my guess she is being cheeky about closing and is in fact moving.  The 2nd street district and that building in particular have not be overly kind to their tenants so may be for the best.

I talked to her over the weekend and she is, in fact, moving. They jacked up the rent.

Rumor has it she’s heading east. I’ll miss dining at Jo’s when I visit IF+D.

I like that everyone else has had the Kristen experience too. She is awesome. She equipped our dining room and soon our guest bedroom. I am looking forward to gassing up the helicopter and visiting the new store many more times.

Btw, I meant to update this, yes she is moving East. Cesar Chavez & Comal area, I believe.

I won’t miss the parking nightmare that is downtown (“hey, let’s block off 70% of the street parking at any given time for valet or construction”).

Yeah, I just mentally added $7 to every trip downtown to visit. I’m a creature of habit and would only park in the AMLI garage and not the city garage. It’s too bad, because I’d often check out the DWR floor model sale items on the same trip. Now I’ll have to make an extra effort for both.

Move in progress, per IF+D voice mail. Chaos ensues, and it was good.

Update: East Austin fell through, so she is looking for new digs and, perhaps a co-tenant. Store is virtual for the time being. Send good vibes her way, y’all.
