Austin based Miró Rivera architects designed a modern vision of a necropolis. The Yarauvi is envisioned for the Dead Sea, though it is not intended to actually be built. Perhaps inspired by ancient Dakhma structures, this is one of the most inspiring designs I’ve seen in a long while: elegant, symbolic, respectful.
From the Miró Rivera site: “Yarauvi is a place where any person—regardless of nationality, race, religion, age or affluence—can be laid to rest.”
